Did you know you can consult and use a broker regarding Health Insurance and it doesn't increase your rates?
Here at North East Insurance Services, we are licensed and certified to assist in enrolling you and your family in an individual plan through The Federally Facilitated Marketplace or directly with the insurance carrier.
You must apply during open enrollment beginning on November 15th each year. The 2016 open enrollment window is scheduled to close February 15, 2016 for a March 1st, 2016 effective date.
Open enrollment is a window of time where you can choose to enroll in an individual Health Insurance plan through the Marketplace or directly with a Health Insurance carrier in your state. Outside of open enrollment you MUST have a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) in order to enroll in coverage. You will have 60 days following certain life events to enroll in coverage. These events included but are not limited to marriage, divorce, childbirth, adoption, loss of other minimal essential coverage, and moving to a new state. All individual plans will renew January 1st regardless of their effective date.
How Do You Know if You Qualify For A Subsidy?
Depending on the size of your family and annual household income, you may be eligible for a subsidy from the government; this includes single individuals as well. You should check the Federal Guideline. A subsidy may help you pay for all or part of your Health Insurance premium.
The fastest way to find out if you qualify for a subsidy would be to visit healthcare.gov or by calling them directly at 800-318-2596. They will ask you for personal and income information to verify your eligibility for a subsidy. Let them know you are working with a broker to choose a plan. This does not affect your rates. You must give the Marketplace our National Producer Number (NPN) 7872262 for Laura Mount. Write down your application ID number, the amount of the subsidy and then contact us for plan options. It will be easier for us to guide you in choosing a plan once we know how much you are eligible for.
